Annual Convention
The Wheat Growers invite you to attend our 40^th anniversary convention, to be held January 12 to 14 in Orlando, Florida.   The event will be held in conjunction with AG CONNECT Expo, North America’s largest agricultural trade show.   The Expo will feature the latest innovations, numerous educational seminars, tours and several prominent speakers.

Wheat Growers 39th Annual Convention
The Wheat Growers 39th annual convention and annual meeting was held January 7 - 9 at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg. The theme for the 2008 convention was "On the Verge . . . " and was an exciting and informative event. The convention kicked off with an opening reception at the Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7 and closed with a banquet on Friday evening. Once again, we had a great lineup of speakers.  We also toured the Canadian International Grains Institute, Canadian Wheat Board and the Royal Canadian Mint on Thursday afternoon.

This event represents a great opportunity to meet and mingle with your fellow Wheat Growers, including several members of the board of directors. Wheat Grower 38th Annual Convention:
The Wheat Growers 38th annual convention and annual meeting was held January 23 - 25 at the classy Hilton Minneapolis hotel, downtown Minneapolis.  

The theme for the convention was "Pushing the Boundaries".  The convention kicked off with an opening reception on the floor of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange on Wednesday evening, January 23 and closed with a banquet at the historic Mill City Museum on Friday evening.  Once again, we featured a great lineup of speakers. 

On Thursday afternoon convention participants had their choice of three different tours.

Western Canadian Farm Progress Show 2007:
The Wheat Growers participated once again with a booth at the Farm Progress Show.  During the Show, 100 members and guests enjoyed a plant tour at Brandt Agricultural Products and feasted on a BBQ catered by Merv's Pitchfork Fondue. Thanks to Brandt and also sponsors JRI, FarmPure, Arysta LifeScience and Big Sky Farms for making this event such a huge success.

Manitoba Ag Days 2007:  It was great to see so many Wheat Growers stop by our booth and attend our dinner in Brandon during Manitoba Ag Days in January.  Wheat Grower President Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel spoke to 70 members and guests at the dinner about our recent activities. Thanks to the following John Deere dealerships for sponsoring the dinner:  Enns Brothers, NorthStar Spraying Systems and Deer Country Equipment.

Agri-Trade 2006:
Once again, the Wheat Growers took part in Agri- Trade 2006 held in Red Deer.  While there we were host to a very successful member dinner on November 9, which was sponsored by Agricore United, Bayer CropScience and Newco.  Many thanks to all who stopped by our show booth and to our dinner sponsors.  We look forward to seeing many of you at Manitoba Ag Days in January.
